Review: Mane Teeze Hair Perfume by T&M

Monday, March 25, 2013 - Post a comment (2) -

Looking for a way to refresh, revitalize and rejuvenate your dull winter hair? I’ve got just the product for you! Mane Teeze Hair Perfume by T & M! I know what you’re thinking, “hair perfume?” because trust me I was too, but this stuff is amazing! I’m normally the one to spray my body spray in my hair and call it a day, but I always have to keep spraying it because the scent doesn’t last. I’ve been using this hair perfume for about a week now and I am absolutely in love with it. These hair perfumes contain a higher concentrate than the average perfume, but are made just for your hair, so they are so much gentler to use than actual perfume. A few spritzes of the perfume is all you need for an all-over coverage that won’t leave your hair feeling greasy or dry. While the scent is very potent when first sprayed onto the hair, it soon fades to a much softer scent that lasts the entire day! The product description says that it tends to last for about 12 hours, and I have found it to last much much longer which I like. It’s also a great refresher for after a workout, or going to a smoky bar…in case you’re on the run and don’t have the time to go home and take a shower!

I have been using the Black Widow scent, which is described as a “husky fog of luxury containing enchanting undertones of dark amber for a smoky, intoxicating scent”. When I first smelled it I wasn’t too sure about it because as I said, it is very strong when first sprayed. After it faded a bit, I fell in love with the smell. I can’t stop smelling my hair!

Mane Teeze Hair Perfume also come in two other scents…Haut Mess is a decadent mix of chocolate, caramel, and dessert-like scents while Social Butterfly is a soft and sweet vanilla infused scent. I personally want to try all of them.

If you’d like to get your hands on this luxurious hair perfume, you can visit the Mane Teeze website at http://www.maneteeze.com.

*I did receive this product from Mane Teeze to test and review for Beauty and Lifestyle Blog, since I am a contributor there. No other compensation was received and, as always, all opinions are my own.

The Only Thing I Can Be… (Me, Myself & I Linkup!)

Tuesday, March 19, 2013 - Post a comment (8) -
My day was completely brightened up by these flowers from Erica and the babies! I just wanted to share that before I get into this post! I am linking up with Breanna from My Beautiful Crazy Life today for the Me, Myself & I Linkup!

1. Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? How? Growing up, I never really celebrated it besides wearing green to school. I've never had corned beef and cabbage. Now that I'm older, I just go out and drink. That's pretty Irish of me, right?

2. It's March which means spring break! We want to know how your spring break went or if it hasn't happened yet, what will your spring break consist of? I don't get "breaks" anymore, that's one thing that I miss about school! I don't think I've ever done anything extravagant for my Spring Breaks. If I was able, I would prop my butt in the sand somewhere tropical, sipping lots of alcohol and getting a wicked tan.

3. A Zombie Apocalypse happens and you're stripped of all your luxury items. What beauty product would you miss the most? I CAN ONLY PICK ONE?! I would probably miss my mascara the most...probably.

4. What is the one cause that you feel most passionate about? I'll be the first to admit that I don't regularly donate money to charities, I've been looking into ways to donate my time locally though. I know that any little bit can help!
Anything having to do with children always affects me. Whether it be hunger, education, neglect and abuse or adoption.

5. What's the #1 most played song on your iPod?

Weekend Shenanigans : St. Patrick’s Day Edition

Thankfully, I am feeling much better after tons of “rest” (laying around being lazy). I’m thinking that the drastic change in weather just made me feel a little crummy for a few days. I am not complaining about the weather though, it had been GORGEOUS out! I’m so excited that Spring is finally starting to roll around.

Since the weather was so nice, Erica, the babies and I met for lunch. It ended up being a little windier than we had anticipated so we opted to sit inside, instead of on the patio, but it was still a nice time. I am still thinking about the awesome salad that I had! It was some sort of “fiesta” chicken salad, complete with corn and black beans. The chicken had this awesome kick to it that I liked as well. I washed all of that down with a white wine sangria, of course. Wine makes everything better!

We also tried lemons…which some of us liked, others, not so much.

Of course, with it being St. Patrick’s Day and all, we had to get a few celebratory drinks in! Can I just say how excited I am for Cinco de Mayo? You can get intoxicated and not have to dress up in silly outfits, although some people do end up wearing sombreros and making fools of themselves. We met up at Chili’s for a few margaritas and then ended up going to our local bar for their St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

I didn’t take many pictures, but I do think I managed to capture some of the best moments from my weekend! I’m of course talking about the salad…

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard about Google Reader getting the axe, and the likely demise of Google Friend Connect. I’m pretty bummed because that is how I keep up with all of my blogs! I have already imported every blog that I follow over to Bloglovin’, and although I tweeted my BL link, I figured that I would post it here as well! If that’s the route you’re taking to follow blogs, make sure to not lose me by following here- http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/4054258! The link is also in my sidebar, it’s the little heart icon!

What’s in my Purse? Leopard and Hot Pink Overload

Tuesday, March 12, 2013 - Post a comment (5) -

I decided that since I’m feeling a bit under the weather this week, I would do the “What’s in my Purse?” Tag today. I’ve seen it going around for years, and it’s one of my favorite tags. I love seeing what people carry around with them and what they feel they need everyday. Of course, again, I tagged myself! If you’ve done this post or I’ve inspired you to do one, send me the link, I’d love to see!

(My purse is the Kandee Johnson designed bag from Imoshion, it can be found here, although they aren’t making it anymore at the moment. They’re supposed to be getting it back in stock at some point in time.)

Here’s what is inside of it!Click the link to see my “What’s in my Makeup Bag?” post.

Slow Cooker Chicken & Dressing Recipe

Tuesday, March 5, 2013 - Post a comment (4) -

I’ve got one today for all of you comfort food lovers out there! It’s still been pretty chilly around my parts, and nothing makes my tummy happier during those times than a warm home cooked meal. I am really beginning to love my crockpot adventures as well as my crockpot. It’s pretty magical! This recipe came from Pinterest, and I’m unsure of the specific source. I screen capped the recipe on my phone, and can’t seem to find it on my pin board. If you’ve seen my pin board, that’s not surprising…I can never go back and find anything, so I have to screen cap them. If this is your recipe or you know where it came from, please let me know so that I can site the source!

Again, another very very simple and quick to prep recipe! What you’ll need is pictured below:

  • 3-4 Chicken Breasts
  • 1 Box of Stove Top Stuffing Mix (any kind will do.. Cornbread, Chicken, etc. Chicken happens to be my favorite, I also used the lower sodium kind)
  • 1 Can of Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1/2c of Sour Cream – I used light

Start by placing the chicken in the crockpot, they need to be underneath all of the yumminess to follow. My phone couldn’t get a good picture of the chicken—it had a weird color with my flash, so let’s skip to the next step!

Add the entire box of Stove Top on top of the chicken:

Next you’ll need to mix 1/2C sour cream, the can of cream of chicken soup and 1/4C of water in a small bowl:

Place mixture over the stuffing and smooth out:Cook on LOW for about 3-4 hours:After it’s finished cooking, you’re left with pillow-y chicken-y goodness!

(Don’t forget, my giveaway ends this Friday! Head on over and enter it if you have yet to! Such a cute headband up for grabs!)

Monthly Favorites: February

Monday, March 4, 2013 - Post a comment (8) -

Happy Monday! I hope that you all had a fantastic weekend. I decided to jump on the bandwagon and share some products that I have been absolutely loving for the entire month of February…and into March! Let’s get started!

Skin and Hair care Favorites:

  • Sonia Kashuk ‘Remove’ Eye Makeup Remover – See my post about it here to find out why it’s still one of my favorites!
  • Biore Warming Anti-Blackhead Cleanser – I received this product relatively late in the month, but it made it into my “favorites”! I normally don’t use anything on my face other than my normal daily cleanser. I’ve been using this cleanser twice a week to help improve the appearance of my skin, and it has WORKED! My blackheads aren’t as noticeable. I’ve been using this in conjunction with the Biore Pore Strips, and I’m loving my results. I will post a full review once I have finished the bottle.
  • TRESemmé Fresh Start Dry Shampoo – This little gem is great on days when you don’t have time to wash your hair. It’s a nice little refresher to keep your hair from looking like you haven’t washed it that day!
  • Dove Nourishing Oil Care Daily Treatment Conditioner – I love this stuff. Pretty straight to the point. It smells great, and keeps my hair looking soft and luxurious while keeping it shiny and healthy. It has a dual action formula containing nutri-oils to restore nutrients to your hair and a conditioner that seals cuticles and helps to smooth frizz.
  • Dove Nourishing Oil Care Detangler – I’ve had to use detangler since I was a little girl, more so these days when my hair is out of control long and down right unruly. When I get out of the shower, my wet hair is a big tangled mess, this has helped me to get the tangles out quickly and pain-free (which is important). It also smells great!
  • Organix Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum – I use this on my ends after every shower. I hate hate hate split ends, and since I heat treat the crap out of my hair, this helps me to minimize and prevent them.

Makeup Favorites:

  • Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in ‘Quenched’ – I love this chap stick. I keep it in my makeup bag and it goes with me wherever I go! My lips always get dry and chapped in the winter time, and this has helped prevent that.
  • MAC Amplified Color Lipstick in ‘Chatterbox’ – I Back 2 MAC’d for this color a couple of weeks ago and I have been wearing it almost every day ever since. It is such a pretty pink color, one of my new all-time favorites.
  • Sonia Kashuk Perfecting Luminous Foundation – This has been my go-to foundation for over a year. I switched from Studio Fix Fluid to this. The coverage is just as good, I would say anywhere from medium to heavy if you build it up. The formula is extremely lightweight so you never feel caked in makeup. I love it!
  • Revlon PhotoReady Concealer – Another product that I haven’t had the entire month but made it onto my favorites! This concealer is amazing! The coverage is great, it doesn’t set into lines and create creases and it hides not only my under eye circles but my blemishes as well!
  • e.l.f. Golden Bronzer – I love this palette of colors. Mixed together, they make the perfect shimmered bronze tone for my skin.
  • e.l.f. Contouring Blush & Bronzer -  I decided to try this after hearing so many positive things about it online, as well as other beauty bloggers comparing it to some high end brands and shades. I love it! The bronzer is a tad bit too dark for me, but I use it sparingly. The blush is my new favorite shade to use.

Nail Polish Favorites:

  • Sinful Colors Rise and Shine is such a pretty turquoise-ish color that I’ve been loving.
  • China Glaze I’m Not Lion has been my favorite glitter and accent nail color! I adore it.

If you did a February Favorites blog post or video, let me know so that I can check them out!

Don’t forget to enter my Chevrons & Anchors crocheted headband giveaway, it ends Friday!
