Influenster’s Holiday VoxBox '12

First of all, if you haven’t heard of Influenster, you’re really missing out! Influenster is basically an online community (free to join) filled with regular people who love to try out and provide opinions/reviews on products! I was turned onto it by a friend of mine, and was one of the lucky members picked to receive their Holiday VoxBox! When I got it in the mail, I was so excited to tear it open and see what was inside. I decided to post small reviews of each product that came in my VoxBox. Enjoy!

 

The first thing in the Holiday VoxBox was the Goody QuikStyle Paddle Brush. I was really excited about this one and have been eyeing it in the store recently. It has microfiber bristles, which are supposed to be absorbent and help remove water (30%) while you style. Basically helping it go from wet to dry faster.

I LOVE THIS BRUSH! I was a little worried that the microfiber bristles would start getting gross, but I’ve been using it for a week and I haven’t had any problems so far. We all know how long my hair is, and it definitely cuts down on my drying time.

I’m so glad that it came in the box, because I probably wouldn’t have picked it up on my own. It retails for around $12.00..if you’re in the market for a new brush, you should check it out.

 

 

The next thing was the Quaker Real Medleys Apple Walnut Oatmeal. At first glance, the thing that I liked most about this was the packaging. It’s a single serving size in a cute little cup-perfect to take on the run!

I’m not a huge fan of walnuts but I decided to try this anyways. I absolutely love it! There’s not much to say besides that. It was creamy, delicious, and had just the right amount of fruit in it!

I’ve been seeing different flavors that others got in their VoxBox, so I’m excited to try those! Especially the Summer Berry and the Cherry Pistachio!

 

 

 

 

 

I also received a single packet of EBOOST in the Pink Lemonade flavor. Taken from the card inside of my VoxBox (since I’ve never heard of this product/brand before)- EBOOST will boost your mood, focus, and immunity with natural ingredients and no crash.

Again, I’m not a fan of this flavor. It comes in 3 other flavors, and I would have loved to try either the Acai Pomegranate or the Super Berry, but what can you do?

In my opinion, this was just okay. The taste was similar to something like Crystal Light. I also don’t care much for powders ever since I’ve been using Mio to flavor my water, but this one did blend well!

I mixed it into some water in the afternoon and definitely did feel a little pep in my step throughout the rest of the day. No crash either!

I’m going to try it again in a different flavor and see if I like it better.

 

The Kiss Nail Dress in ‘Sexy’ was the biggest disappointment of my VoxBox. I really and truly wanted to like these! I was so excited to use them because the design I got would have been so cute for New Years Eve!

I’m a big fan of the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips, so I figured I would love these too! Nope, I was wrong. The “pros” stop at the fact that the designs are cute.

So, what don’t I like? They’re not very good quality, especially for the price. They’re very hard to apply as well. Not only do they not have a good selection of sizes, you’re supposed to be able to ‘file off the excess’, which in turn ruins the sticker. I don’t know if it’s just because I got a design with crystal accents on it, but it was pretty impossible to file off the excess without messing up the crystals, they just kept falling off. Worst of all? They just peel right off. I had them on for maybe 3 minutes before they starting curling at the edges and just peeling off. I could have done without this product, and will be sticking to the Sally Hansen polish strips.

Lastly, I received NYC’s Liquid Lipshine in Honey on the Hudson.

I’m not a big lip gloss wearer, I tend to stick to chap stick, and I definitely don’t wear browns. I ended up giving this to my mom, and she’s loving it! She’s been wearing it, I think, every day since I let her have it.

She’s told me that it’s not sticky or gross like some lip glosses can be, and it doesn’t have a bad smell or taste. The color payoff on it is pretty good as well for a drug store brand.

I may end up grabbing either a berry or pink shade for myself, since it comes in 10 different shades. I’m intrigued because the description of it says that it has Vitamin E in it to provide shine and moisture.
